2023 Holiday Gift for Residents of YSB Youth Shelter

How it works

Brighten up someone's holiday season by sending a holiday gift to a woman in need.

1) Buy a gift for a resident of the Youth Services Bureau's Young Women's Shelter in Ottawa. Our goal is to donate one gift for all 64 residents of the Young Women's Shelter and the transitional housing that they provide. Remaining gifts will be donated to Cornerstone Women's Shelter. 

2) We'll pack each gift and deliver it to the shelter just before Christmas.

3) You can sit back and know that you spread holiday cheer to a young woman who needed it most!

Note: Gift Better Co. does not profit from these sales. Our team is donating their time this holiday season to assemble these gift sets and donate them on your behalf to YSB's Young Women's Shelter and Cornerstone Women's Shelter.  

Impact

We’re teaming up with YSB Ottawa to provide boxes full of items from the "Holiday Wish List" to their Young Women's Shelter residents this holiday season.

About Youth Services Bureau

Founded in 1960, the Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa (YSB) is one of the largest and most comprehensive non‑profit agencies serving youth in this community. More than 350 caring professionals work from 20 locations across the city to deliver a vast range of programs and services that support at‑risk youth and their families.

One of these programs is the Young Women's Shelter. This program offers young women aged 16 to 20 immediate access to safe housing. Open 365 days a year, the Evelyn Horne Young Women’s Shelter is always ready to welcome youth with nowhere else to turn. The shelter has 30 beds and offers both emergency shelter and transitional housing for up to a year.

What’s Included

• This gift box will be filled with different items from the Young Women's Shelter wish list, such as chocolates and cookies, mindfulness colouring books, mittens, a pillow case, markers or pencil crayons, and a holiday card with a message from you!

Shipping

• All boxes will be assembled by Gift Better Co. and will be dropped off at the Young Women's Shelter as well as Cornerstone Women's Shelter in December to be distributed to their residents in time for the holidays.
