Meet The Charitable Partners For Our Spring 2020 Collection

Our mission as a company has always been to make gifts more meaningful. We do that by tying the purchase of each one of our pre-curated gift boxes to an important social cause in order to make an impact on society while providing a beautiful unboxing experience for the recipient. For our Spring 2020 collection, we established new partnerships with a number of Canadian charities so that we're continuing our mission to give back with each gift. Learn more about each of the charitable organizations that we've partnered with below.

The Ottawa Hospital Foundation

The Ottawa Hospital Foundation consists of a team of professional staff and community leaders committed to inspiring, enabling, and celebrating community support for The Ottawa Hospital. As the world experiences the unprecedented nature of COVID-19 as a collective, emergency relief efforts are needed at a community and global level. The Ottawa Hospital Foundation has launched a COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund to put funding toward urgent priorities to help patients and staff directly affected by the crisis.

How we give back: A portion of the proceeds from each On the Rocks and New Mom box sold will support various COVID-19 response efforts through The Ottawa Hospital Foundation's COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund. Some of the ongoing projects include working towards a vaccine, calming the immune system of critically ill patients, testing therapies, and more.

Second Chance Café

The Second Chance Café is a non-profit charitable organization that has been providing vulnerable populations in Montreal, Quebec, with food, coffee, and guidance since they opened their doors in 2000. Second Chance Café provides free coffee and food such as pizza and bread on a daily basis as well as warm clothing for men, women, and children. They also help furnish apartments for new arrivals.

How we give back: Each purchase of our Coffee Lover box goes toward providing food and coffee to underprivileged community members at Second Chance Café.

The Ottawa Mission

The spirit of that act of kindness lives on today in The Ottawa Mission. What began as an emergency shelter for men has evolved into a wide range of programs and services for men and women in need. From food and clothing to addiction and trauma services, from housing and training support to spiritual care, staff, volunteers, and donors of The Mission are dedicated to changing lives for the better. Everyone is welcome at the blue doors on Waller Street.

How we give back: Each purchase of a Welcome Home and Shaken, Not Stirred box goes toward providing food, shelter, and services to homeless people through The Ottawa Mission.

SickKids Foundation

SickKids Foundation has been fighting for sick children since 1875 when the doors of The Hospital For Sick Children opened in Toronto, Ontario. In 1972, SickKids Foundation, the fundraising arm of the hospital, was established and has been the largest charitable funder of child health research in Canada ever since.

How we give back:  When a child goes through a procedure at SickKids, they get to choose a special item from a treasure box to provide them with some comfort. Each Oh Baby and Little Peanut gift box sold adds one toy to the treasure box at SickKids hospital to reward kids for their courage.

Youth Services Bureau

Founded in Ottawa in 1960, Youth Services Bureau has been dedicated to "providing a safe, non-judgmental and accessible environment where individuals 12 years and older can pursue their life goals and be encouraged in making informed decisions." With offerings like Youth Engagement, Mental Health Services, Community & Housing Services, Employment Services, and Youth Justice Services, YSB helps over 3000 youth every month advance toward their goals.

How we give back: In addition to having everything a busy bee needs for some serious self-care, rest and relaxation, every three Rest and Relaxation boxes sold make it possible for Youth Services Bureau to respond to a mental health crisis call.
